This coating is available in a white finish. Equinox\u2122 Top Coat works in combination with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Equinox\u2122 Base Coat<\/li>\n<li>Prime Time<\/li>\n<li>Prime Time Plus<\/li>\n<li>Tack Coat Primer<\/li>\n<li>Encase Metal Primer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Coverage Rate <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic application rates:\n<ul>\n<li>First apply the Equinox\u2122 Base Coat at the rate of 1.6 gallons per 100 square feet (sq. ft.)<\/li>\n<li>Then apply Equinox\u2122 Top Coat at the rate of 1.6 gallons per 100 sq. ft.<\/li>\n<li>This includes a loss allowance of 15% for application and 10% for surface texture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Use extra coatings for extremely irregular roofing substrates<\/li>\n<li>The coatings must cover all the roof as an unbroken, continuous film with a minimum dry thickness of 13.5 mils per coat<\/li>\n<li>If you are using granules, embed them with a second top coat at the rate of:\n<ul>\n<li>0 gallon per 100 sq. ft. for Roofing Granules<\/li>\n<li>50 pounds (lbs) per 100 sq. ft. for Quartz Granules<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application<\/h3>\n<p>Guidelines for the application of Equinox\u2122 Base Coat and Equinox\u2122 Top Coat:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure the personnel using the products have thoroughly read and understood the safety data sheet<\/li>\n<li>Personnel spraying the coatings must use a NIOSH-approved mist \/ dust mask<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the personnel are also wearing other, proper personal protective equipment (PPE) because the products:\n<ul>\n<li>Contain chemicals recognized by the State of California as ones that may cause cancer, reproductive disorders, and birth defects<\/li>\n<li>Are harmful when swallowed<\/li>\n<li>Can cause irritation for skin, eyes, and respiratory system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Mixing with itself may be necessary if the products are old (i.e. mix old Equinox\u2122 Base Coat with itself in the container and Equinox\u2122 Top Coat with itself)<\/li>\n<li>Do not mix Equinox\u2122 Base Coat with Equinox\u2122 Top Coat<\/li>\n<li>Do not thin or dilute the coating by adding other liquids, substances, or solvents<\/li>\n<li>Before applying, ensure the surface is:\n<ul>\n<li>Dry, solid, and structurally sound<\/li>\n<li>Finished and smooth<\/li>\n<li>Free of impurities that prevent proper adhesion (such as contaminants, chips of roofing and other material, dirt, moisture, wax, and grease)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Do not apply on SPF foam surfaces that have the following textures:\n<ul>\n<li>Popcorn<\/li>\n<li>Verge popcorn<\/li>\n<li>Tree bark<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>For application on certain surfaces and decks, you will have to establish \/ install special drains, roofing vents, positive slope to drain, vapour retarders, flashings, and expansion joints<\/li>\n<li>Temperature and Moisture guidelines:\n<ul>\n<li>Ambient temperature must be between 36<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F and 100<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F<\/li>\n<li>Relative humidity must be below 80%<\/li>\n<li>Surface temperature should be at least 5<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F above dew point but less than 120<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F<\/li>\n<li>Avoid applying during inclement weather<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The surface \/ roof where you apply the coating should have:\n<ul>\n<li><em>Less than<\/em> 36 sq. ft. of water in any area with a depth of \u00bc-inch or more at a time of 48 hours after rains<\/li>\n<li><em>Less than<\/em> 5% of the total surface area under <em>bird baths<\/em> (i.e. small, irrelevant amounts of water on roofs that evaporates rapidly)<\/li>\n<li>Preparations to rapidly drain away the water<\/li>\n<li><em>Zero<\/em> ponding water if the surface is polyurethane foam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Dispose product in a manner that complies with local, state, and federal regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Storage Requirements <\/h3>\n<p>Storage guidelines for Equinox\u2122 Base Coat and Equinox\u2122 Top Coat:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Store the coatings at a cool place that is:\n<ul>\n<li>Above 40<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F<\/li>\n<li>Protected from freezing<\/li>\n<li>Out of reach of children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Close containers tightly after use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Low Temperature Acrylic Elastomeric Roof Coatings Product Description The Conklin Equinox\u2122 system consists of a base coat and a top coat.
