This rate includes a loss allowance of 15% for application and 10% for surface texture<\/li>\n<li>If the roofing substrate is irregular, use extra Affinity\u2122<\/li>\n<li>When using granules, embed them using a second top coat at the rate of:\n<ul>\n<li>0 gallon per 100 sq. ft. for Roofing Granules<\/li>\n<li>50 pounds (lbs) per 100 sq. ft. for Quartz Granules<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that the personnel have read and understood the safety data sheet<\/li>\n<li>When spraying the coating, make the personnel use a NIOSH-approved mist \/ dust mask<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the personnel are also wearing other, necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) because the product:\n<ul>\n<li>Contains chemicals that the State of California lists as ones that may cause birth defects, cancer, and reproductive disorders<\/li>\n<li>Is harmful when swallowed<\/li>\n<li>Can cause irritation for the skin, eyes, and the respiratory system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Always mix Affinity\u2122 with color packet completely before use<\/li>\n<li>Apply on a surface that is:\n<ul>\n<li>Dry, clean, solid, and structurally sound<\/li>\n<li>Smooth and finished<\/li>\n<li>Clean and free of substances that prevent good adhesion such as moisture, grease, contaminants, dirt, wax, and chips of roofing or other material<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>When applying on certain surfaces, you may need to install \/ establish proper drains, positive slope to drain, roofing vents, flashings, vapor retarders, and expansion joints<\/li>\n<li>Do not apply the product on a SPF foam surfaces with the following textures:\n<ul>\n<li>Tree bark<\/li>\n<li>Verge popcorn<\/li>\n<li>Popcorn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Temperature and Moisture considerations during application:\n<ul>\n<li>Ambient temperature must be between 40<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F and 100<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F<\/li>\n<li>Relative humidity must be less than 80%<\/li>\n<li>Surface temperature must be at least 5<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F above dew point but less than 120<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F<\/li>\n<li>Do not apply during inclement weather<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The surface for application must have:\n<ul>\n<li><em>Less than<\/em> 36 sq. ft. of water in any area with a depth of \u00bc-inch and more at a time of 48 hours after rains<\/li>\n<li><em>Less than<\/em> 5% of the total area under <em>bird baths <\/em>(i.e. small, irrelevant amounts of water on roofs that evaporates quickly)<\/li>\n<li>Arrangements to drain away water quickly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Dispose the coating in a manner that adheres to local, state, and federal regulations for disposal of hazardous waste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Storage Requirements <\/h3>\n<p>Storage guidelines for Affinity\u2122:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Store the product at a cool place that is:<\/li>\n<li>Above 40<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F<\/li>\n<li>Protected from freezing<\/li>\n<li>Out of reach of children<\/li>\n<li>Close containers tightly when not using the coating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Product Description Conklin Affinity\u2122 is a polyurethane roof coating with a highly reflective and bright white finish.
