It is best suited for application over spray-in-place polyurethane foam and can also be applied on other materials that need a fire-rated coating. Prime Time\u2122 is more useful for preparing very weathered, rough, and irregular substrates of the mentioned type.<\/p>\n<p>Following top coats work well on surfaces primed by Prime Time\u2122 and Prime Time Plus\u2122:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Benchmark\u2122 Acrylic Latex Roof Coating<\/li>\n<li>Equinox\u2122 Acrylic Latex Roof Coating<\/li>\n<li>Rapid Roof\u2122 III Acrylic Latex Roof Coating<\/li>\n<li>PUMA XL\u2122 Urethane Modified Roof Coating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Coverage Rate<\/h3>\n<p>Following are the coverage rates for both primers, Prime Time\u2122 and Prime Time Plus\u2122:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approximate coverage rate is 1 gallon over 100-130 square feet (sq. ft.) of roof surface<\/li>\n<li>Precise coverage rates depend on the actual roof conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application<\/h3>\n<p>When applying Prime Time\u2122 and Prime Time Plus\u2122:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that the personnel have read and completely understood the safety data sheet<\/li>\n<li>If personnel are spraying the primers, make sure they use a NIOSH-approved mist \/ dust mask<\/li>\n<li>Also, ensure the personnel are wearing other, relevant personal protective equipment (PPE) because the primers:\n<ul>\n<li>Contain chemicals that the State of California recognizes as those that may cause birth defects, cancer, and reproductive disorders<\/li>\n<li>Are harmful when swallowed<\/li>\n<li>Can cause irritation for skin, eyes, and the respiratory system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Mix the primers completely with themselves before use (i.e. mix Prime Time\u2122 with itself in the container before use). Similarly, mix Prime Time Plus\u2122 with itself before use<\/li>\n<li>Temperature and Moisture guidelines:\n<ul>\n<li>Ambient temperature must be (a) above 40<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F and below 90<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F for Prime Time\u2122; (b) above 40<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F and below 100<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F for Prime Time Plus\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Relative humidity must be below 80%<\/li>\n<li>Surface temperature should be (a) at least 5<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F above dew point but less than 100<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F for Prime Time\u2122; (b) at least 5<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F above dew point but less than 120<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F for Prime Time Plus\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Do not apply in inclement weather<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The surface \/ roof where you apply the primers should have:\n<ul>\n<li><em>Less than<\/em> 36 sq. ft. of water in any area with a depth of \u00bc-inch or more at a time of 48 hours after rains<\/li>\n<li><em>Less than<\/em> 5% of the total surface area under <em>bird baths<\/em> (i.e. small, irrelevant water ponds on roofs that evaporate rapidly)<\/li>\n<li>Arrangements to quickly drain away water<\/li>\n<li><em>Zero<\/em> ponding water if the surface is polyurethane foam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Clean and agitate the roof surfaces thoroughly before applying the primers<\/li>\n<li>For touch-up jobs and for application on small-area surfaces, use a natural fiber brush of good quality<\/li>\n<li>For application on large-area surfaces, use spray equipment or rollers<\/li>\n<li>Allow the primers to dry before applying the top coat<\/li>\n<li>Dispose the primers in a manner that adheres to relevant local, state, and federal regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Storage Requirements <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Store the primers at a cool location that is:\n<ul>\n<li>Above 40<sup>\u00b0<\/sup>F<\/li>\n<li>Protected from freezing<\/li>\n<li>Out of reach of children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Close containers tightly when not using the primers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Product Description Conklin Prime Time\u2122 Acrylic Roof Primer and Conklin Prime Time Plus\u2122 Fire Resistant Acrylic Roof Primer are superior quality acrylic, elastomeric, and monolithic, latex roof primers.
